Bi-monthly Meetings

MOCHA holds five meetings per year at Highland Park Hospital in Highland Park, Illinois (meeting room 1 or 2). Meetings are from 7 to 9 p.m. on the second Monday of the months of September, November, January, March, and May.

All MOCHA members will be subscribed to our announcement mailing list. We send out few messages each week–nothing that will over-burden your In Box.

Speakers and Presentations

Most meetings include presentations by one of the following: allergists, nutritionists, psychologists, and other professionals who treat severely allergic children. Meetings may also include small-group discussion, information sharing, and recipe exchanges.

Dinner Group/Social Opportunities

Many members of MOCHA also attend a more informal dinner group several times a year to socialize, share information, and simply have an evening out to eat those “forbidden” foods! Other social events for families are planned as well.

School Nurses’ Conference

MOCHA conducts a yearly conference to help educate area school nurses about the issues relating to food allergies and students.

Reference Materials

MOCHA has compiled an “ideas” binder containing material describing what other schools and parents are doing to protect food allergic children. It complements the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network’s school program guide. Copies of these materials can be purchased for a nominal fee.

Networking/Support

MOCHA has many members who have experiences and wisdom to share. We are an open group that enjoys providing support to one another over the phone and in person.

Dues

MOCHA annual dues are $25, payable in January or upon joining. This nominal fee covers the cost of our newsletter and mailings throughout the year.
