A note to Comcast subscribers

Dear MOCHA mailing list subscriber,

Beginning in August 2006, changes in Comcast’s spam filtering resulted in messages sent from our mailing list server being identified as spam and rejected. The mailing list software handles these bounced messages by disabling your subscription after a period of time, resulting in the notifications some of you have already received. Unfortunately, the change in Comcast’s policy is beyond our control. The company that hosts our list server is doing what it can to remedy the situation, but there is only so much they can do.

If you are being affected by this, you have a couple of options:

The easiest thing for you to do, if it is possible, is to subscribe to the list using another e-mail address. Visit this page and follow the instructions for subscribing to the list. Once your MOCHA membership has been verified, you will begin receiving Denise’s mailings:

lists.mochallergies.org/listinfo.cgi/mocha-talk-mochallergies.org

We will do our best to post important the items Denise sends to the list, here on this site, so you can check that periodically for updates.

Finally, if you are so inclined, you could contact Comcast’s customer support and inform them that you are being prevented from receiving e-mail from an “opt-in” mailing list. It is possible that they have a way to resolve this issue. If nothing else, you will be adding to the total number of reports they receive related to this issue, which could encourage them to act.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience. We want very much to keep you “in the loop” on important food-allergy-related news.
